Yes, you hear that right at the beginning of the video. 2 and a 1/2 weeks before we are planning to leave I still did not have my license. I was a pillion for 4 years, and had often begun the process to get my license. In Canada I ran out of time before moving to Turkey(I had not expected a waiting list of over a month, and the earliest test date was September 12th and I was flying out August 22nd. I made the phone call the end of July thinking it would be a birthday gift to myself). In Germany I had started the year before but the sheer amount of money involved meant it was slow going. Plus I suffered (ahem, still do, sorry that use of the past tense implies it no longer applies) from the disillusion that I have all the time in the world. That 3 months is PLENTY of time, and you can do almost anything in that amount of time. And then the 3 months are up and you have no idea where that time went and your still only half way though your required lessons.
So when your watching that insane little display of song and dance and maniacal laughter while on the phone with my mother (and when you can hear her laugh over the phone you can see that it is obviously genetic that creates that laugh) forgive me, I was a little excited. My test was on Friday and we planned to leave a week later. If I had failed our trip would have been postponed by a week at least, as you have to wait 2 weeks in between tests. Given the fact that I also have asthma we are actually pretty lucky I did not end up in hospital that day.
So enjoy the last video of planning before we hit the road, and yes we planned a 3 month trip with a newbie rider!
